Orientation Trip - Wed 4th - Prisons
Hello all,
(In respect to groups 1,2 and 3 of the Prison Scheme)
On Wednesday 4 November, the prison orientation will take place. We will be meeting outside the Venn building at 1.15PM, where we shall be taking taxi's to the gates of the Prison. Bring at most £5 to cover the cost of the taxi. However, if you wish to make your own way to the prison, be ready at the gates by 1.30PM.
There are rules and regulations on entering the Prison. For example, formal clothing must be worn. All of the provisions are listed on the law society's website under the Pro Bono link then in the Prison Scheme section. It is essential that you read through this document! Available here.

Refugee Application Deadline
The deadline for applications for the Refugee seekers scheme is Friday, 30th October 4pm. Please fill in your applications and hand them into the law school reception. Copies of sign up sheets are available from the law school reception desk.

Prison Draft Presentation Session 1
Hello all,
This is a message for all students on the probono prison scheme.
The draft presentation run through session will be held on Wednesday 28th October in S.22 Wilberforce between 3pm-5pm.
I have allocated a time slot for each of the groups for the presentations.
Please check your relevant times and attend the session.
All probono prison scheme students who are participating in mooting are excused from the presentation run through session.

Prison/Refugee Scheme Updates
I will not be emailing students individually regarding updates of the probono prison or asylum seekers scheme. It is you responsibility to check the updates on hulllawsoc.com, portal emails and relevant facebook groups:
- Hull University Probono Prison scheme 2009/2010- Selected prison scheme candidates only!
- Hull University Probono Refugee scheme- Refugee group, all interested candidates please join them!
I will only answer any queries that you have regarding probono via the emails.
Pro Bono College of Law Trip - Mandatory
We will be running a trip to the College of law (York). Please make a note of this, as it is mandatory for all pro bono members, no matter which scheme you have signed up for. The presentation skills session is really useful and will give you some general tips on carrying out a successful presentation! There will be a small fee involved.
We are due for a 2pm return, meaning we will be on time for the client interviewing demonstration!
Punctuality is very important and any late comers who miss the chance of attending the trip will have to bear the consequences!
